I’m Brit I have always had a passion for food, I attended a local culinary program where I received my certification, I also obtained my Associates in Marketing and certification in Retail Management and Sales. In the past I have been known to make great cakes for friends and family events. I also have dabbled in photography. I enjoy entertaining, making great food, that not only tastes amazing but looks amazing, too good to eat!
Hello! I’m Kim. I would say it wasn’t until college that I really began to enjoy cooking. I had my small group of close friends in college and the one thing that seemed to bond us all together was food. We loved to cook and we loved to eat. The majority of our time was spent cooking meals together, eating, and talking. In 2009 I graduated from college with my degree in Business Administration, my focus was Entrepreneurship. Since graduation I’ve worked in banking and then moved back to my hometown for a new career and to be closer to family. In my free time, I enjoy being creative! I am an avid crafter always looking for new and exciting things to try. Whether its cooking, baking, painting, refurbishing old furniture, or sewing pillows (this could be a very long list) I love to do it all. And now I get to spend time with my sister, as we work together to create amazing recipes for you!
We grew up in a family who loved to create good food. Our Grandpa, our Dad’s Father, wrote his beloved recipes on the door of his summer kitchen. We always had huge gatherings with aunts, uncles, and cousins where my Grandpa would cook for us all. Our Oma, on our mother’s side, was always cooking us amazing Dutch food. Our Oma and Opa (thats dutch for Grandma and Grandpa) moved from Holland to Brazil, and then years later moved from Brazil to the USA. Bringing along with them their 5 little girls and their Dutch recipes.
Growing up in our family its no wonder we love to cook (and eat)!!! Healthy foods and comfort foods. Savory and sweet, hence our name Salt Cellar and Sugar Pot. We want to create any and every kind of food. No limits!
So here we are, two sisters venturing into the world of food blogging. We look forward to bringing our love of food, photography, and design to life for others to enjoy. If you have found yourself here, we are excited! Thank you for visiting our blog. This is a first for us so we hope to grow and learn, continuously strive to get better. So lets shimmy on into the kitchen and dig out those pots and pans. We have some cooking to do.
Eet Smakelijk! (Enjoy your meal)
