A couple weeks back, we asked our followers on Instagram and Facebook what their favorite way to cook cauliflower is. Many of you gave us some great tips, but we’re sure there are some of you who get stumped on how to prepare this bland, white food. We kicked it up a notch by using this amazing produce, the Romanesco Cauliflower. It’s not just interesting and in some ways mesmerizing to look at, but it is also more appealing to the eye than your plain, white cauliflower. What we are trying to say is it’s not boring!

Our Chili Romanesco Cauliflower Bites are a great way to spice up your simple cauliflower. The sweet and spicy chili sauce gives these Romanesco Cauliflower Bites just the right kick.

Serve these as an appetizer with a side of blue cheese, or as a side dish perfect for your backyard BBQ. Suddenly, we can hardly wait for summer!

Ingredients

Chili Romanesco Cauliflower Bites Ingredients:

1 head of Romanesco Cauliflower, cut into florets
2/3 cup ketchup (GF)
1 Tbsp Sriracha (GF)
1 Tbsp chili sauce (GF options available)
2 Tbsp sweet chili sauce (GF options available)
2 tsp soy sauce (GF options available)
1/8 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 garlic clove, minced
Pinch of black pepper

 

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350º F

Spray a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.

Cut the head of your Romanesco  Cauliflower into florets (they will not all be the same size, this is ok). Wash your Cauliflower after it is cut. Pat dry.

Place Romanesco Cauliflower florets into a medium size bowl. Add to bowl ketchup, Sriracha, chili sauce, sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, chili powder, paperika, onion powder,  garlic, and black pepper. Mix until the Romanesco Cauliflower florets are well coated.

Transfer the coated cauliflower onto greased baking sheet and place in the oven for 47 minutes. Bake until tender.

Serve.
